At a press conference, Tourism Minister Daniella Cabello announced a charter operations plan for 2026-2027 projecting 13,680 foreign visitors on direct flights to Margarita Island: 21 flights from Poland (7,560 European travelers) and 34 Buenos Aires–Porlamar connections (6,120 Southern Cone visitors), under strategic alliances and tourism corridors. The announcement comes with growing inbound numbers: 419,872 foreign passengers between January and July 2026, above the same period in 2025, with 129 weekly international frequencies operated by eleven airlines and eight domestic carriers in operation. For agencies, Margarita —a core destination in the Ikiratours portfolio— anticipates European and South American demand: securing hotel inventory early is advisable. Ikiratours is Venezuela's 100% B2B DMC and inbound wholesaler for travel agencies.

What it means for your agency

Margarita is the beach destination with the largest installed capacity in the portfolio, and European charter business has historically filled hotels for entire weeks. If the plan is executed, pressure on inventory will be real in high season: agencies that block allotments early will sell with margin, while latecomers will compete for leftovers. For Argentine agencies, the direct Buenos Aires–Porlamar service simplifies the product: it sells as a nearby Caribbean with no connections. For European agencies, it is a signal to bring Venezuela back into brochures with a proven destination.

What to do

Check the Margarita dossier and net hotel rates on the B2B portal. If you are planning groups or series for the 2026-2027 season, request early allotments from operations: confirmation follows the 24-to-48 business-hour SLA. See How to book for the process.
